The beginning of May 2009 saw the arrival of
Mick Gee’s escorted group. Despite the high water due
to a late spring melt the guys all managed some good fishing
with some up to 100 lb of fish. For many it was like coming
home again and for new arrivals to Lakeside Cottages like
Rambo Mick it was love at first sight at Lakeside Cottages.
Amazed by the fantastic scenery around the resort and lake
Rambo Mick said “why would I want to go any where else
when I can walk out of the cottage throw my line in sit back
and enjoy the wildlife which is beyond one‘s wildest
dreams. Bald Eagles feeding and nesting close by the friendly
chipmunks dive in your bait box and the sunsets are unbelievable
it’s pure magic”. Rambo Mick returned to Lakeside
later on in the year for some more magic!!
Mid May saw the return of young Spike and the
lovely Cheryl joined by two very young Canadians Dude 80
yrs old and Len 70 yrs old. Their first time carp fishing
and first time to Lakeside but not the last. We were all
in for a real treat for theses two great guys had some good
fish. Dude had his first fight of life time and managed 27.4lb
but it was Len winning the bet with 29.8lb a perfect evening
a wonderful experience for us all .Thank you Dude and Len
for the Ski lesson on the lawns all good fun and Eileen and
I hope to see you both on the ski slopes this winter and
now you can call yourselves carp fishermen! See you next
spring - Later Dude came back in the summer with his lovely
wife June bringing along his brother in-law Billy sister

been the best fishing ever!
The Paul’s managing a total of 116 in
just 6 days between the two of them. Sad to be going home
but all were in need of a rest from all the reeling in. Kay
really enjoyed the visit to a free show to see 70‘s
pop idol David Cassidy along with Eileen wondering who will
be on next time when they return next year. The festival
Light show is on in Peterborough twice a week with various
shows without the summer start’s in June ends the last

end swimming in the bay fishing off the docks for their very
first fish watching me play a wild hungry monster carp the
